If you don't know where your tank is, nobody can service it. Locating is a quick job with the right tools, and a riser makes it a one-time job.
How we find it
- County permit drawing (free or nearly free — ask first)
- Following the main drain line from the house with a probe or camera
- Electronic locator flushed through the system where needed
Risers. A riser brings the tank lid to grade so future pump-outs, inspections and filter cleanings don't involve a shovel. Cost $200–$400, installed during a pump-out. It pays for itself in two visits and it's the first thing a septic inspector notices.
About 63% of homeowners don't know where their tank is, and in Brevard it's usually under a foot of sand and a lawn that's been resodded twice. Start with a permit records request at DOH-Brevard — many 1970s–80s systems have a drawing on file. Steel lids on older tanks corrode through; a riser with a modern lid is a safety upgrade, not just a convenience.
Lid replacement. Cracked concrete or corroded steel lids are a safety hazard — falls into septic tanks happen. We replace them at the same visit.
